When asked which actor among Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan  she would act with if given a choice, Kajol answered: “I’d choose a movie with all three! Why not?”

Kareen & Saif Marriage: Will Saifeena walk the Aisle in 2012 successfully?

Bollywood is abuzz with news of Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s marriage these days. It’s believed that Saifeena, as the couple is known in media, is ready to tie the knot soon. The wedding of Kareena and Saif is the center of media speculations now-a-days. Kareena Kapoor’s zodiac sign is Capricorn. She is under the influence of Jupiter Maha-Dasha in current period. Antar-Dasha or the sub-period that she is passing through belongs to Mercury. In Kareena Kapoor’s horoscope or Kundli, Mercury is the lord of 9th as well as 6th houses. It shows that this period is lucky for her. However, she could get into some unwarranted controversies due to the lordship of the sixth house of Mercury.

There are strong possibilities of Kareena Kapoor’s marriage in 2012. However, she might face some hurdles in walking down the aisle. As I had predicted earlier, and it is evident now – the date of Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s marriage is being changed again and again. In such circumstances, it can be concluded on the basis of planetary positions that the success of their marriage is also somewhat suspicious. Conjunction of Rahu and Venus in seventh house indicate that there may be ego clash and problems in Kareena Kapoor’s marital life. If she gets married in such a situation, she might face continuous stress. Also, her husband may fall ill or she might stay away from her husband.

As far as Kareena Kapoor’s career is concerned, it is a very good time for her professionally. She's reigning queen of Bollywood leaving behind likes of Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai etc. Her performances in different Bollywood movies would be praised and she would also garner critical acclaim along with box-office success. Apart from some minor ups and downs, it is overall going to be a good year for her. Saturn is transiting in her house of career. Therefore, she will have to work hard during this period, but she’ll reap amazing results too. As Saturn characteristically causes, she might get results only after facing some barriers. There may be some changes in the schedules she is working in. In her most talked about upcoming flick Heroine, which made her one of the most costly Bollywood actress, there are possibilities of some delay in release or she would face some unexpected troubles. Kareena Kapoor’s starts show that she would be praised for her performance in this movie and would beg some prestigious awards for it too.

As far as Kareena Kapoor’s proposed wedding with Saif Ali Khan is concerned, the probable positive time period for this marriage is from October 26 to December 25, 2012. If we analyze profoundly on the basis of Vedic astrology, the most probable period for their marriage is from November 22 to December 11. Maha-Dasha of Jupiter and position of Mercury, being the lord of this house, in 9th house itself show that Kareena Kapoor is not going to change her religion after marriage.

Just How Educated Are These Bollywood Actors?

The filmi record of our favourite Bollywood stars is there for everyone to see. Now, let's have a peek in their academic accomplishments!

The Hindi film industry is full of people from different backgrounds -- some qualified, others over-qualified and some who never graduated at all.

Shah Rukh Khan is an alumnus of Hansraj College, who then joined up for a Master's degree in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, but did not complete it. Farhan Akhtar schooled at Maneckji Cooper in Mumbai and has a commerce degree from H R College, Mumbai.

Hrithik Roshan went to Bombay Scottish School and then Sydenham College, where he graduated with a Commerce degree.

Emraan Hashmi graduated from Sydenham College and Ajay Devgn from Mithibhai College, both in Mumbai, and Arjun Rampal graduated from Hindu College, Delhi.

But not all actors completed their college. We take a look at actors, who left their education midway to pursue their dreams.

Hollywood or Bollywood Opal Beads Rule Every Where

Just as a bee is attracted to a jaggery; in the same way a woman is attracted to jewellery. Gift a woman her favourite jewellery and she is all yours. Since ages, jewelleries have often defined the beauty of a woman. She cannot hold herself back from the charm of having a good jewel.

History says that it was the Dutch traders who played an effective role in introducing the beads to the world. It is said that beads are the earliest examples of jewellery as they trace their origin about 100000 years ago. In India, it was from the year 1980 when beads came in to use. They were called the Venetian Beads.

Normally, beads are put in to small threads and are normally worn as necklaces. Modern day beads are made from plastic, wood, glass or metal and are quite popular among the young girls. The benefits of wearing these beads are that they can be worn with any kind of attire whether casual or formal. There is a certain way in which the Opal beads are worn with formal dress. The first and foremost thing to be kept in mind while wearing a bead is its colour. If you are wearing a top then you can always go for the neutral ones like navy blue or black. A red or blue colour bracelets works well with a black dress.

Next is choosing the right type of beads. Beads are to be selected in such a way that they accentuate the beauty of a woman. Beads today form an effective part of a woman's beauty. Small beads can be worn with a formal dress. However, you can always go for the large beads in any corporate event. When it comes to casual dressing you can flaunt your bead by wearing a cocktail dress.

Beads are not stereotypical in nature they can be worn by both the genders as well as kids also. If you are thinking that women can only wear beads then you are wrong. Men or boys can also flaunt this equally. Pairing them up with a jeans and t shirt can make a person look more stylish. The masculine Obi Band bracelets are quite popular among the youngsters. Handmade beaded bracelets are a hot favourite among the kids. These can be worn on occasions like in a party or at a school dance party.

In Hollywood beads are flaunted by actors, singers and actresses. Actor, singer and dancer Chris Brown has often been seen wearing an onyx beaded bracelet. Apart from that singer T.I. flaunted two diamond ball bracelets in the music video "Hello Good Morning". When it comes to women celebrities the list is endless. Jessica Alba, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry makes it sure that they include beads with their attire. Even in Bollywood actress Vidya Balan and South Indian actor have been spotted wearing Rudraksh beads. Hence, one thing is clear from this fact that beads are gaining their popularity with each passing day.

Salman Khan meets Afghan woman who was shot in face by her husband

Indian film star Salman Khan met with the 18-year-old Afghan woman who was brutally shot in face by her husband, local newspaper Deccan Chronicle reported.
Shakila Zareen’s face was left badly-disfigured after her husband shot her with a shotgun, which blew out her nose, an eye and impaired hearing in the left ear.
It was her dream to meet with the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan someday. Her ambitions turned into reality after the Indian star provided her with the opportunity to meet him in his luxury residence in Mumbai.
The superstar during her meeting with the tortured Afghan girl confided that his ancestors too fled Afghanistan six generations ago for the very same reason she is in India — lawlessness.
“And it’s still the same. They follow Islam, they say. But they don’t follow any religion. All they believe is in dominating women, unlike Islam which talks so much about woman power and their rights,” Salman Khan quoted by India’s Deccan Chronicle, gently told Shakila.
Salman Khan gave two hours time for Shakila Zareen to tell him her story and take as many photographs as she wanted.
Shakila is currently under treatment in India’ Apollo hospital and is undergoing plastic and cosmetic surgery. She received lovely gifts from Salman including nice suits, shoes, and bags.
Dr Shahin Nooreyezdan, Apollo’s senior consultant told the Deccan Chronicle, “Since she used to talk so much about Salman. I put her picture on my Facebook (page) asking all my friends if they could help her meet Salman. I am so happy she has met him.”
Shakila’s face has been reconstructed partially from her thigh skin, however she is unable to speak properly as the gun shot destroyed her teeth and the nose cartilage.
She is keen to become a journalist in a bid to be a voice for distressed Afghan women and to get them justice.

Why Salman Khan didn't wear his lucky bracelet in Ek Tha Tiger?

Everyone in Bollywood knows that the Blue Gemstone bracelet Salman Khan wears on his hand is lucky for him. But Salman Khan did not wear his lucky bracelet in Ek Tha Tiger as the actor thought it will not go with his role of a RAW agent in the movie. Salman Khan's sister Alvira Khan told a website, "The silver bracelet was made to order for Salman by his father, Salim Khan some years ago and naturally, Salman's very attached to it. But he did not wear it in Ek Tha Tiger as it did not go with the character he essayed in the film - that of a RAW agent. He wore it in Ready and in any film that it doesn't clash with his on screen character." This bracelet, which he has been wearing over the years, is Salman Khan's lucky charm! It is said that the blue gemstone that Salman wears supposedly brings good fortune and keeps away bad luck from the wearer

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra travel in Mumbai local train

Kaminey - the very term that could actually invoke anybody to bash the person mouthing it, also happens to be the name of the much anticipated film that stars Shahid Kapoor alongwith the Priyanka Chopra and directed by the ever so versatile Vishal Bhardwaj. For many days, after the announcement of the film, not even a single soul got to know of Shahid's double role in it, a much guarded secret that has now become the USP of the film! So much for irony. The adjoining snap has Shahid in one of his most likeable avatars along with Miss Chopra, which has been shot inside of a train.

Well, the news from our reliable sources also has it that the till now chocolate boy Shahid will be seen as someone who is totally absolutely raw, rigid and sturdy! Not just that, even the locations in which the film has shot have been kept as rustic as possible, which includes local stations, and scarp and junkyards! Word also has it that in this film, Priyanka plays an extremely vocal Maharashtrian girl, who believes in making her heard. If that wasn't enough, then, hear this one. Kaminey also marks the 'debut' of Amole Gupte as the ruthless villain. For starters, Amole is the very name that was in eternal spotlight for quite some time, courtesy the 'creative differences' between him and Aamir Khan, during the shoot of Taare Zameen Par.

Well, we are just having galore of reasons to yearn for that time machine as we just cannot wait any longer for Kaminey.

All the biggies of the B town have been seen flashing their lucky charms every now and then. When I say lucky charms, for some celebs it is their gemstone jewellery, whereas for others it is a particular object, like a watch or a particular colour. We’ll be discussing about the lucky jewellery which these celebs have been wearing. Here are some B town celebs with their lucky charms.

Shilpa Shetty:
Shilpa Shetty allots her career success, winning the Celebrity Big Brother show, her IPL stint, and even the success of her yoga CD, to her emerald ring, which she wears on her little finger. She says, this ring was advised by her mother and she did achieve instant fame and recognition at a global level after wearing it.

Amitabh Bachchan:
A few years back, Amitabh was in huge debt, his company was on the verge of shutting down and his career was on a downhill, it was then, that an astrologer advised him to wear a blue sapphire ring. And then he came back with a bang, with Kaun Banega Crorepati, and since then we all know his popularity rose. He also wears an opal and emerald, to alleviate his health problems.

Vidya Balan:
The Ooo La La Girl is gaga about her beads. We have spotted her wearing her bead bracelets with no matter her attire is. The beads are not really any precious gemstones, but she believes them to be her lucky charm. We spotted Balan sporting a combination of two bracelets — a blue and a black one — at almost all her recent public appearances including award events.

Salman Khan:
Sallu Bhai’s lucky charm is his turquoise and silver bracelet which he has been wearing over the years! The bracelet was gifted to him, by his Father Salim Khan, so naturally Salman is very attached to it. The turquoise stone supposedly brings good fortune and keeps away bad luck from the wearer. It has become his signature style and the same bracelet even adorns his wax statue at Madam Tussauds.

Top 10 Holi scenes from Bollywood

In Bollywood, Holi is usually an occasion for joy, sometimes a time for things darker. Songs and dances apart, these cinematic Holi moments stand out in the crowd.

Any Holi discussion is incomplete without the song Rang Barse from Silsila. Just before Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) starts singing, Chandni (Rekha) tells Amit's wife Shobha (Jaya Bachchan) that she didn't marry the man she fell in love with. In another corner, Amit makes the same confession to Chandni's husband Dr Anand (Sanjeev Kumar).

In Mohabbatein (2000), school teacher Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) uses his powers of persuasion and a teeka of gulaal to get strict principal Narayan Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan) to let the students play Holi.

Shah Rukh's first brush with cinematic Holi was much less celebratory. In 1993's Darr, he played an obsessive stalker and infiltrated Juhi Chawla's Holi party, sneaking into her house to tell his "K-K-K-Kiran" how much he loves her.

In the landmark Sholay (1975), Holi provides an opportunity for Veeru to romance Basanti, Gabbar Singh's band of villains to lay waste to the village of Ramgarh (only to be seen off by Jai and Veeru) and finally provides the revelation that Thakur has no arms.

In 1992's Deewana, Holi is an occasion for Raja (Shah Rukh Khan) to deliver an impassioned declaration of love to the widowed Kajal (Divya Bharti), ending by throwing red gulaal on her white sari.

Balam Pichkari gets everyone dancing in 2013 movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaani but the scene to watch out for is the one that follows, where Naina (Deepika Padukone) is about to tell Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) she loves him but doesn't because she realizes how different their worlds are.

In 1991's Saudagar, Holi is when the 14 year feud between Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar ends, with Dilip Kumar refusing to be smeared with gulaal and Raaj Kumar then claiming the privilege of friendship to do so.

Not every Holi is all innocent song and dance. In a pivotal scene in Damini (1993), Meenakshi Seshadri is witness to the rape of a maid by her brother-in-law and his friends on Holi. The maid dies in hospital, the rape is covered up by the family and Meenakshi Seshadri is the lone crusader for justice till she meets lawyer Sunny Deol.

In 1970, Kati Patang blended Holi fun with social reform. Kamal (Rajesh Khanna), broken-hearted after being jilted at the altar, tries to get the woman whose friendship helped him heal - the ostensibly widowed Madhavi (Asha Parekh) - to play Holi.

In Namak Haraam (1973), Chander (Rajesh Khanna) goes for the pichkari-wielding Shyama (Rekha) with a bucket. What follows is a tutorial on the effects of bhang and how not to behave when under the influence. The song Nadiya Se Dariya follows this scene.

Sandip Soparrkar visits PETA head office to discuss Animal Cruelty

With all the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, the stars love to do everything in their own style. What’s even more surprising is that these stars have fondness for animals, Hollywood and Bollywood stars are lending their time and energy to highlight cruelty faced by animals. From being chained and caged, they want this unkindness and brutality to stop.

Bollywood ace choreographer Sandip Soparrkar joined the lost list of stars, including Pamela Anderson, Cindy Crawford, Aishwarya Rai, Shilpa Shetty and Madhuri Dixit, John Abraham to publize the unfair treatment to animals. Sandip who has also received an award from PETA for being a true supporter, was seen visiting PETA USA sprawling headquarters in Norfolk in Virginia and showed his love for animals. This visit was mainly as PETA wanted to discuss with Sandip various dance based events to raise funds and create more awareness about the cause of PETA in USA and India.
President of PETA Ms. Ingrid E Newkrik said, “Sandip Soparrkar has been a long-time animal ally. We are all big fans of Sandip and his beautiful wife Jesse Randhawa, who have performed for PETA events and have starred in a unique ad to wake people up to the suffering of snakes who are seized from their natural life, have their teeth ripped out, spend their lives in suffocating boxes and are forced to dance”

Sandip Soparrkar said, “Jesse and me have been supporters of PETA for years. We keep doing shows and shoots to support PETA. I am glad I finally visited their head office in Virginia USA. They have been tirelessly working towards the cause of animal welfare, my visit was like a promise that I am always there for them in all ways.”

Salman Khan's lawyer Dipesh Mehta extortionist held

Actor Salman Khan and legal troubles go hand in hand. The actor has been stuck in a huge amount of legal problems than any other actors in the industry then how can the people around him be safe. Dipesh Mehta who has handled lots of legal cases like Bandra accident matter of the actor, Jodhpur Chinkara case and many other high profile cases happens to be the legal advisor of Salman Khan. Himself got entangled in the receiving end getting extortion calls. Dipesh Mehta was getting calls for extortion from last about three months and was having sleepless nights till the first accused got arrested. The story goes On December 16, Chatri sent a bouquet with live cartridge, along with a message asking for Rs 2 crore from Mehta. Even after having received around 30 extortion calls, Mehta was unable to figure out that who was behind these calls and why is he being targeted.  Mehta claims that the caller did not use any abusive language after first call, but he constantly kept threatening him (Mehta) for money. In a typical Bollywood fashion, the caller warned Mehta whether he wants a flower or a bullet? Mehta told the caller that he has decided to take flower as he understood that he is a dangerous man. The caller then tried to bargain and asked how much can he give to him? Mehta calmly replied him that he can decide but you will get angry, aur bologe bhikhari samjha hai kya (do you think I am a beggar), After that Mehta spoke with him a lot and told that he has wrong information about him, adding that the (caller) then got angry and said I called you for extortion not to listen your lecture. I am alone and have been active in this profession since past 12 years. During the conversation, Azad displayed his different shades. Sometimes he laughed and on occasions he got angry during conversation. He later tried to assure that Mehta will be his responsibility and he will be taking care of him if anyone will try to harm him. Mehta told the caller that he don’t have time to talk much as he has to visit a doctor. His voice then started mumbling and asked…aap ko heart ka takleef to nahi hai na (Do you have heart problems). So Mehta replied to him that abhi to nahi hai per aap jaada tension doge to ho jayega(As of now I don’t, but if you will keep giving me tension then I will surely get heart problems). After a while his two alleged accomplices were caught by the police. The man, identified as Aryan Alimuddin Sheikh and Anthony William Dias was nabbed in Bandra, from where he made his last extortion call. Sheikh has five cases of chain snatching registered against him so far, police said, adding that he was released from jail on December 4 after completing a 15-month sentence in a chain-snatching case.Dias too is a history-sheeter who recently completed a five-year sentence for attempt to murder, the police said.

Yesterday the prime accused, Ramchandra Chatri has surrendered to Bandra police on Thursday evening after Mehta convinced him to surrender. The accused was absconding for almost three months now and had challenged the Mumbai police to arrest him. The accused  had been calling Mehta since the last couple of days and promised to surrender after Mehta paid for Chatri's father’s treatment. Mehta has been paying Chatri for this while Ramu's mother works at Mehta’s house. Chatri's father was a security guard at the Mehta’s house.

Dipesh Mehta said, “When I first received the call, the caller abused me and demanded Rs2crore. The caller knew that I have many expensive cars. But I never raised my voice while talking to the caller. I told him that I am a solicitor and have a good office, but I am not a billionaire and have these cars as I worked hard. I have been under extreme pressure for three months. He was like a family member to me. I suffered mental and physical stress by them”.

At the press Conference Dipesh Mehta was seen thanking media and Mumbai Police for their hard work and support and said that because of their pressure Ramchandra Chatri has surrendered to Mumbai Police. Mehta who has gone through this extortion trauma from last three month was seen giving some tips to people on how to handle a person who is threatening you and trying to extort money, “first of all we don’t have to insult them or degrade them then you have to tackle the problem very politely and slowly. You have to give your precious time to make him understand that whatever he is doing is wrong, always take in confidence the police as they are always there to support you without them this case could not have been solved.” So as of now the accused have been sent in police custody for seven days.

Rajesh Thakkar, a real estate broker who had conned Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra of Rs 1 crore was taken into police custody while he was attending a relative’s wedding on Monday at Andheri’s Lokhandwala Complex. The accused had been on the run since last two years, and had apparently, fled to USA with his family after stealing the money.

The case goes something like this. According to the police report, Ketan Shah, the managing director of Ravi Builders, had signed an agreement with the Kundras to buy their apartment in Pinnacle Heights back in August 2011. The deal amounted to Rs 9.5 crore and the two parties entered into an agreement via broker Rajesh.

As a part of the deal, Ketan had paid Rs 1 crore to the Kundras as the first instalment and had promised to clear the remaining amount within the next three months. But later, Shah backed out saying that the flat was costing him around Rs 40,000 per sq ft – almost 50% more than the (then) existing market rate of Rs 25,000 per sq ft.

The Kundras were gracious enough to respect his decision and returned the money via Rajesh the alleged accused real estate broker. Thakkar was supposed to collect the cash from Kundras and deliver it to Ketan. But obviously, that did not happen and instead, he fled with the money.

It was only when Ketan called the Kundras asking for his money, that the parties realised that they had been conned. They then, went ahead and filed a report against Thakkar.

Almost two years after the incident, Thakkar was finally arrested a few days back from a wedding hall in Andheri’s Lokhandwala Complex. In his defence, Thakkar said that he returned to India after exhausting all the money and ever since, has been living in Gujarat. Talking to a leading daily the police informed, “Thakkar thought that the matter had died down and it was safe for him to return to the city. He had promised his family a tour to USA and had used the entire sum for the same.” Raj Kundra also spoke to the daily and informed that he was happy that such a criminal was behind the bars now.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Gujarat tourism campaign delayed!

The 71-year old superstar was supposed to shoot for Gujarat tourism campaign at Champaner and Pavagadh but now the schedule has been postponed. Read on to know why…
Amitabh Bachchan, who is busy wrapping up his film Bhoothnath Returns, has been feeling a little under the weather for past few days. In fact, the veteran actor underwent CT scan recently and has been advised to take rest by the doctors. Hence the shooting of ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’ campaign featuring Big B has been rescheduled. In an interview, an official from Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd said, “We received the message from Amitabh Bachchan in this regard a short while ago and that is why we have decided to reschedule his programme of visits to the sites at later stage.”

But that’s not the only reason behind the campaign being pushed forward. Naranbhai Rathwa, former Union Minister and Congress candidate from Chhota Udepur earlier raised objections over the advertisement starring Big B. According to Rathwa, the purpose behind Mr Bachchan’s campaign was to influence the voters in the concerned area by using the megastar’s celebrity status. Last week, Vadodara Congress chief Narendra Rawat also objected to the ad shoot and told a leading daily, “The advertisement is used for promoting development under BJP in Gujarat. We oppose the same as a celebrity of this rank is being used to promote BJP’s false developments (claims) in tourism sector, during election time to market BJP in name of shooting tourism advertisement.”

Afghanistan’s love affair with Bollywood

KARACHI: A love for Bollywood films is shared on both sides of the Durand Line.
Could Afghanistan be the next market for Indian films to be officially distributed in the country? No matter where in the world you are, if you’re a desi, there is a chance someone associates you with Amitabh Bachchan. That is the impact that Bollywood has around the world. Across the border in Afghanistan, Indian films have continued to be popular through the decades, despite years of civil war and foreign invasions.

As director Kabir Khan, who shot his 2006 film Kabul Express in the country, told the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS), “People in Afghanistan will kill for a Hindi film. They watch nothing but Hindi films. People there have learned to speak Hindi only by watching Hindi movies and Afghans will give their life for Hindi cinema.” While the screening of Indian fllms in Pakistan was legalised only a few years ago, Afghanistan’s main source of the latest Shah Rukh Khan film comes from pirated prints smuggled into the country. Even though several films have been shot in Afghanistan, including the abysmal Khuda Gawah (1992), it does not register on the Bollywood distribution map as yet.

“Despite people’s craze for Hindi movies, the Bollywood market is ‘next to nil’ in Afghanistan,” Sunny Khanna, a senior vice-president at Balaji Motion Pictures told IANS. “In the last four to five years, no movie has had an official theatrical release there unless someone bought the satellite rights (for TV).” “No movie (from India) Goes to Afghanistan. There is no distributor or Bollywood representative who will release a movie there. It is very rare that a movie goes there or we are approached by them.”

Indian films are usually shown on Afghan TV channels.
Afghan’s media landscape has transformed over the past few years, and the country now boasts about a half-dozen television channels. Local spin-offs of popular television shows such as “America’s Next Top Model” and “American Idol” have found a niche market in the country.

However television channels have run into issues with the government and now have to employ censors who ‘pixilate’ any content that people would find objectionable. While reality television has taken off in Afghanistan, alternative forms of music have become popular. The guitarist for the rock band Kabul Dreams told the BBC in January, “Playing rock music is a risk but we want to play in Afghanistan”. Kabul Dreams said that in the absence of a local music scene, young Afghans listen to music from India and Pakistan. Haniya Aslam (of the Pakistani band Zeb and Haniya) was told by Afghan friends that the duo’s Dari song “Paimona Bitte” from their 2008 album Chup had become a huge hit across the border.

Last week, the Xinhua news agency reported that 17 cinemas existed in Kabul before the Taliban took over the country. Along with Indian cinema, Pashto films and telefilms are very popular in Afghanistan. Afghan investors have also commissioned Pashto filmmakers based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make telefilms that can be sold via DVD.
